Singer--Floyd "Mud" Edwin Meeks, 62, died November 15, 2010 in his residence. He was born in DeQuincy and lived in Singer. He was of the Baptist faith belonging to Good Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his dogs and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons; Dustin Greg Meeks of Lake Charles and Taylor Dean Meeks of Natchitoches, a sister; Sharon Myers of DeQuincy, a special sister; Sandra Lacy of Kemp, Tx., step-sister; Betty Royer, step-brother; R.C. Hext, Jr., grandson; Jacob Avery and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; A.B. and Velma Meeks.
Services will be Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 2p.m. in Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer. Rev. Steve Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17 from 4-8p.m. at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home and Thursday from 12p.m. at the church till time of service.
