Lydia Borst Smith (1835-1907) was born the child of Henry J. Borst (1809-1864) and Anna Van Der Bogart Borst (1806-1870)

Her known siblings: Edward Borst (1840-1910), E. , Philo, J. R., (not sure of last name of E., J.R. and Philo, and 2 sisters: Nancy Borst (1850-) and Martha Borst Lewis (1843-1887)

She married Henry D. Smith (4/17/1839 NY-1917 NY) in 1911.

Their children were: Eva Smith (1860-), Carlos/Carl Smith (1862-), Anna Smith (1868-) McKeran and Carrie (Caroline) Smith (1873-). Eva only appeared in the 1860 census as an infant.

Burial lots were purchased by Anna Wood. Additional info. from FAG member Diana Huber including date/place of birth/death. George R. Wood was Lydia's son-in-law.

Mrs. Lydia Smith.

The death of Mrs. Lydia Smith, aged 71 years, wife of H. D. Smith, occurred Tuesday at Westons Mills, besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Anna McKernan (?) of Ellicottville and Mrs. Carrie Smith of Chicago, and one son, Carlos Smith of California; also four brothers, E. Borst of Westons Mills, Edward of Corning, J. R. of Lake George and Philo of Cedar Springs, Mich. The cause of death was heart difficulty. Mrs. Smith has been a resident of this vicinity for over 50 years and was highly esteemed.

The funeral was held today from the house. Interment in Chestnut Hill cemetery in this village
