Jane was born to her parents, Angelo and Nina Kary in Roanoke, Virginia on October 21, 1927. Raised in Baltimore, she graduated from Eastern High School and later attended business school. She married her husband, Clarence "Sonny" Brookhart on May 29, 1949 and was a homemaker for many years. In addition, Mrs. Brookhart was employed as a secretary with Nationwide Insurance. She was a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church. Jane loved playing bridge, reading, traveling as well as going to the beach, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Brookhart is survived by her daughter, Patricia Heathcote of Crofton, MD; her grandchildren, Jamie and Alex; and her brother, William Donald Kary of Severna Park.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 4-7 pm. Services and interment will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville at a later date.
