Jonathan, 76, of Lansing, went to be with the Lord on Monday. He was employed by GM for 39 years and retired in 1988. He was chairman of the Union Missionary Baptist Church Trustee Board for 22 years, was a long-standing member of the NAACP, and community activist.
Cherishing the memories are: his beloved wife of 55 years, Leola; children, Regenia (Mark) Brown, Sophronia Watts, Lysandra Lang, LaDean (Douglas) George, Jonathan Lynn Watts, Garrick (Luretha) Watts, Roderick Watts, Desiree Watts, Lenore (Damon) Costa, and Linus (Tonya) Watts; 6 sisters, Marion Jones, Barbara (Willie) Vaughn, Doris Donawa, Vera Morrow, Geneva Ethridge, and Rosetta (Horace) Jackson; 4 brothers, Joseph (Valencia), James (Doris), William and Nathan Watts; special sister-in-law, Cleola Crawford.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 22, at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Lansing.
