OBITUARY: Lockpor Union-Sun and Journal: "John M. Capen entered into rest on Thursday morning, May 22nd, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R E Stevenson, 52 Elmwood avenue. He is survived by three daughters and one son; Mrs. R. E. (Teresa) Stevenson; Mrs. Burt (Nellie) Criswell, Mrs Charles (Anna) Bartenstein, and Joseph J. Capen all of Lockport, N.Y., sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning, May 24th, at 8:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R E Stevenson and at 9 o'clock at St. John's Church. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery." Family Records say he was from Waldorf, Germany and married Marcella Celia Holland.
