in the 1901 census, the Panton family were living at Killester South, Clontarf West, Dublin.
Present were,
Arthur William Panton, aged 57, A Fellow, and Junior Bursar of Trinity College Dublin. He had been born in Co. Wicklow.
Kathleen A. Panton, his wife, aged 42. She had been born in Dublin.
Harriett S., daughter, aged 17, Scholar.
Arthur Wm., son, aged 16, Scholar.
Robert C., son, aged 15, Scholar.
Eleanor K., daughter, aged 13, Scholar.
Herbert S.C., son, aged 11, Scholar.
also present were
Robert Panton, brother, aged 53, a retired farmer.
Elizabeth Colgan, aged 24, a Cook
Margaret Gogarty, aged 19, a domestic servant.

In the 1911 census, the Panton family were living at 12, Howth Road, Clontarf West, Dublin.
Although is is given a different address, it appears to have been the same premises.
Present were,
Kathleen A. Panton, widow, aged 52.
Robert Panton, son, aged 25, A Civil Engineer.
Herbert S.C. Panton, son, aged 21, a student at T.C.D.
also present were,
Robert Panton, brother-in-law, aged 64, a retired farmer.
Frederick McConnell, a boarder, aged 27, a clerk in Holy Orders.
Ellen Neill, aged 28, a general domestic servant.

Dr. Arthur William Panton was a Mathematician, and was co-author of
"The Theory of Equations, and an introduction to the Theory of Binary Algebraic Forms", published in 1886 by Dublin University Press.

A Memorial within the Church of St. John the Baptist, Clontarf Parish Church, Seafield Road, Clontarf, records that his 3 sons served in WW1.
Arthur served with the Royal Engineers, died.
Herbert served with the Royal Engineers, won the M.C, and survived.
Robert served with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, and survived.
