Victoria V. McCoy

Victoria V. McCoy, age 91, went to live with the Lord in Heaven Saturday, November 13, 2010. She was a resident at Golden Living Center at Walnut Creek. Born in Erie June 18, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Stefan and Helena Nierobisz Guzek.

She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed life, traveling, meeting and talking with people, and playing cards and scrabble with her best friend Audrey (who won most of the time). She was a talented seamstress and had many customers which adored her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. McCoy Sr. on August 8th, 1986.

She is survived by her loving family that will miss her very much. She brought such fun to our gatherings.

Survivors include: a daughter, Kathy Ireland of College Station, Texas, and her children, James Ireland, wife Cec, of Newark, Del., and Jennifer Dvoracek, husband Mike, and their sons Charlie and John; a son Charles McCoy Jr. of Calif. and his sons Russel and Ryan; a son Jeff McCoy, wife Vicky, of Brenham, Texas, and their children Lisa, Lora, Brad, Tonya, Sheri, Kelly, and Shawn, and their 12 grandchildren; a daughter Lou Ann Lethaby, her son Mike Mittner, wife Kerryann, and their children, Hallie and Austin; a son, Kevin McCoy, wife Kyong-Ran and their daughters Kristy, Ariel, and Emily; many nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Audrey Strohmeyer.

Victoria's family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. George Church, 5145 Peach Street (Georgian Way Entrance).

A procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery for burial.

Arrangements undertaken by Brugger Funeral Home.

The family would also like to express their gratitude for the excellent care given to Victoria while residing at Golden Living Center.
