MARTHA MAE MOSHER ALLEY, 78, of Florence Colorado, died at home April 29, 1992. Martha was born on September 8, 1913, in Saguache to Ephraim R. and Harriet [Coolbroth] Mosher. Martha was a resident of Florence for the past 41 years. She had lived in Monte Vista for five years moving there from Saguache. She graduated in 1932 from Saguache County High School. She was a homemaker. She also worked as a clerk in several local stores and as a nurse's aide. Martha was a very active member of the Florence First United Methodist Church and the PTA. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.
On January 13, 1933, she married Henry M. Alley in Taos, N.M. He survives her. Also surviving are six sons: Harold Eugene (Carol), Seattle, Washington; William Henry (Betty), Akron, Ohio; Howard Ephraim (Irma Jo), Colorado Springs; Harvey Kenwyn, Florence; Harl Douglas (Marie), Mesa, Arizona; Ronald Dale (Nanci), Alamosa; Two daughters: Phyliss Louise (Bill), Croll. Cherryfield. Main; Dona Lea (Bill) Graham, Colorado Springs; 16 Grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie Harriet.
Cremation was chosen. The Memorial service was conducted on May 4, 1992 at 2 p.m. at Florence First United Methodist Church. Pastor Terry Eyman officiated. Memorials may be donated to the Florence 1st United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Donna Palmer accompanied Pastor Eyman singing "An Evening Prayer", "In the Garden" and "Just a Closer Walk". The eulogy by her family was given by her sons Bill and Ron. Internment was at Biedell Camp Cemetery near Saguache.
