D.H. Davis was the son of John Franklin and Victoria Rodgers Davis who lived in Daviess County, KY and had four children: Delbert, Paul, Dona and Edna.
D.H. married Rose Ella (Zella) Parsons June 23, 1906 in Owensboro, Ky area.
Children: William Delbert, Lila, Inice, Lillian, John Wendell, Gene Douglas

He worked as clerk at hardware store and depot agent before moving to Memphis. He and Zella moved to Ellendale with her sisters to farm. He had a mare, Ginger, that he enjoyed riding before he got older. He attended Brunswick Baptist Church and a window there is dedicated in part to him and Zella.
