Krista Ann Taylor, 59, of Crestwood Addition, Keyser, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born on April 13, 1951 at Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Ray and Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" (McMillen) Alexander. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, William Wood; and a niece, Dawn Rissell.

Mrs. Taylor was a registered nurse having worked at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Memorial General Hospital in Elkins, W.Va., Little Meadow Health Center in Helvetia, W.Va. and Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser. She was a 1969 graduate of Bruce High School and a 1972 graduate, the last class to graduate from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Cumberland. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Keyser and the Mineral County Humane Society. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved her pets–her cats, Tasha, Kuma, Emma and Dora and her dog, Belle.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Alan L. Taylor; her children, Justin P. Taylor of Baltimore, and Brooke E. Wood and husband Brandon of Roswell, Ga.; her two grandchildren, Benjamin and Blake Wood; a sister, Janet Hare of Gaithersburg; and two brothers, Eric L. Alexander and wife Vicki and Mark R. Alexander and wife Joyce, all of Westernport. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph A. and Krista Taylor of Keyser, Patricia and Charles Hartman of Keyser and Valerie and David Vavro of McKeesport, Pa.; her mother-in-law, Hilda B. Taylor of Keyser; special friends, Carrie Barbarito, Trish Bonner and Eleanor Betler; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R. as celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.
