Jonesboro -- J. G. Greer, 77, prominent citizen of Jonesboro, died at his home after a long illness. Funeral services were held Friday at the Methodist church with Rev. W. D. Milton conducting the services. Interment was in the old Transport cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of Edmonds' funeral home.
Mr. Greer is survived by five children: Mrs. Sam Walsworth, Mrs. J. F. McMillan, Mrs. Vera Alexandria, Mrs. May Woods, all of Jonesboro, and Mrs. M. L. Standifer of California.
Mr. Greer was born and reared in Jackson parish. He was engaged in the mercantile business until his health failed.
