Nancy Ann Agens Pruden was one of 15 children born to Caroline and Eugene Agens. She married Robert Henry Pruden and had 8 children. Harriet Margaret, Mary Marion, Eugene Paul, Ralph Alvin, and Edward James all lived to adulthood. Three children, Marion, Lenard, and Andrew (stillborn twin to Eugene) died before the age of three.
In addition to her own children, she raised the children of her husband, Thelma, Robert, and Lester.

She was a terrific mother and grandmother, doting on all the children. Her grandchildren called her "Mom" and adored her.

Following the sudden death of her husband, Robert in May, 1954, her youngest son, Edward and his family lived with her. A few years later, when Edward bought his own home, she moved with them. She helped raise Edwards three girls, Nancy, Susan, and Michele, and was very much a second mother to them. She was especially close to my mother, Susan, who helped to take care of her during her illness.

She passed away after a long battle with colon cancer on August 22, 1976, only 11 months before I was born.
