Vaughn J. Barnett, 87, Extended Care Unit, Fulton County Medical Center and formerly of Hustontown, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, June 5, 1995 at the Medical Center.
Born April 30, 1908 in Waterfall, he was the son of the late James and Emma (Reeder) Barnett.
He was married to Edna Mumma Hess on June 16, 1951. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1988.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Patsy Gelvin, Hustontown; five step grandsons; seven ste-great-grandchildren; five sisters; Gladys Daniels, Youngstown, OH; Alice Wilson, Johnstown; Blanche Umbrell, Chambersburg, Velma Cowan, Mercersburg and Evelyn Bitner, Waynesboro; one brother, Raleigh Barnett, Waterfall.
He was preceded in death by two sons, one step-granddaughter, one brother and one sister.
He was a member of the Hustontown United Methodist Church.
He had worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8 at the Hustontown Church of God. The Rev. Lanny Hoover will officiate. Burial will be made in the Center Cemetery, Hustontown.
The viewing will be held Wednesday, June 7 at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home in Hustontown from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
