Leila Mae Barnett 94, of Sumner, IL passed away November 6, 2010.

She was born December 24, 1915 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Oreon J. and Leila A. (Vanguilder) Harper.

She married Glen Barnett, who preceded her in death when he was killed in action during WWII.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers, Dwight, J. Roy, and Guy Harper.

Survivors include one son John and wife Jean Barnett of Carmel, IN; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Leila Mae worked several years at the Sumner Press. She then worked for and retired from the First National Bank in Sumner. During her career she also served as Secretary of the Sumner School Boards and Treasurer for the City of Sumner. She was a member of the Sumner United Methodist Church.

Visitation was held one Wednesday, November 10th from 5-7 p.m. at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, 509 Christy Avenue, Sumner, IL.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 11th at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Sumner City Cemetery.
