ELMER MARSHALL BULLOCK
Funeral services were held here Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Wolfe Funeral Home for Elmer Marshall Bullock of Creston, formerly of Villisca and Nodaway who’d died Tuesday, February 2, at a nursing home in Afton.
The funeral sermon was by Rev. Everett H. Staats and the singing was by Richard Northup, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Martin Taylor. Pall bearers were Martin Taylor, Ben Barker, Frank Kennedy, Gilbert Rider, Fred Carothers, and Ted Kennedy and interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
Mr. Bullock was born January 2, 1876 on a farm north of Nodaway, a son of Hickman and Susan Bullock. He was one of eight children in the family, two of whom died in their youth, and he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Simpson, Maude Orme, and Cora Starr and a brother, Albert. One brother, Chester, of Whealtand, Wyoming, survives.
Mr. Bllock was married twice. His first wife died at the age of 32 years and his second wife died about ten years ago
After residing in Villisca several years, he moved to Creston where he lived several years and for the last three years preceding his death he was in the nursing home in Afton where he died following a brief illness. He is survived by one son, Russell H. Bullock of Tacoma, Washington and several nieces and nephews.
