E.P. Bagwell, 76, of Route 1, Murfreesboro, died at his home Wednesday, October 8th, following an illness of some duration. Mr. Bagwell was one of the few remaining pioneer citizens of Pike County, having lived here practically all his life.
Mr. Bagwell owned and operated one of the best farms in this section of the state, and for many years was a leader in every movement that was for the betterment of his community and country. He was a good father, having reared eight children of his own and three step-children, a solid, substantail citizen and a Christian man. The community and state will miss him.
He is survived by seven boys; Dan, Dallas, Clayton, Freddie, Claudie, Henry, and Roy; one girl, Annie Mae O'Neal of DeQueen; step-children----three boys, Tom, Jack and Steve Pierce and one girl Rosie Pierce.
Services were held at Bills, October 8th, conducted by Rev. Philip Alexander, and burial in the Bills Cemetery.
