Bonnie L. Guilford, 82, of Broken Bow died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Custer Care Center in Broken Bow. Bonnie was born July 22, 1928, in Broken Bow to Roy and Hazel (Helmick) Ferguson.

On Aug. 23, 1948, she married Charles Dobesh. On Sept. 17, 1988, she married James Guilford.

Survivors are: husband; daughter, Jacki Ryan and her husband, Maurice, of Broken Bow; son, Greg Dobesh and his wife, Jan, of Broken Bow; stepsons, John Guilford and Jim Guilford; sister, Shirley Wood and her husband, Neil; brothers, Jim Ferguson and his wife, Edna, and Tom Ferguson and his wife, Robin; grandchildren and spouses, Kami and Chris Knoell, Kali and Shane Keil, Kaci and Jason Wozniak, Karisa and Nic Province, Kadi Ryan, Kandi and Kenneth Schrader, Barry Dobesh, Jeana and Chuck Dejean and Jason and Meredith Guilford; and 21 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

Bonnie lived in the Round Hill and Burr Oak community most of her life. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1946. She attended The University of Nebraska at Kearney, graduated as a teacher and taught at Cumro rural school.

She was a country woman at heart and lived and worked on a ranch for more than 30 years. In 1980, Bonnie moved to Broken Bow and worked as a nurse with the elderly and then worked at the mortuary for several years. In hard times, she was a smiling face.

She married James E. Guilford and moved to their farm southwest of Broken Bow. Bonnie and Jim had many wonderful years working in their elaborate garden, traveling and spending as much time as they could with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bonnie enjoyed music and especially singing praise and worship music to her Lord and Savior. Bonnie always loved having her family around her and her family was always her first priority.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Bud Westerlin.
