Roman Catholic Saint. Also known as Jude Thaddaeus, he was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. He was martyred in the city of Beirut, which was part of the Roman Empire at the time, and his remains were eventually brought to Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome.
