Rupert R. "Bill” Darling, 75, 207 W. Harrison St. Casey, died at 8:23 p.m. Saturday (April 25, 1998) at the Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. He was retired after working 33 years with Ettelbrick Shoe Company.

Funeral services will he held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Markwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Roshorough officiating. Burial will follow m the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today (Monday) at the funeral home.

Mr. Darling was born June 5, 1922, in Cumberland County, the son of Lewis and Dovie Drum Darling. He married Belly Burris in 1949 in Toledo.

Survivors include: his wife of Casey; one son, Tex Darling of Greenup; three, daughters, Diana Redman of Westfield, Debbie Zellers of Martinsville and Marsha Orrell of Jenkintown, Penn.; three sisters, Phyllis Repp, Deina Smith and Nadine Wolfe, all of Casey; nine grandchildren; and live great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters and one grandchild.

The family suggests, for those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Active pallbearers were Joshua Darling. Russell Darling, Jeff Downey, Dennis Durnal, Randy Taggert, and Scott Downey. Organist was Eleanor Slifal and vocalist was Curt Weaver.
