Philadelphia Public Ledger, August 1, 1868:
JACKSON, - On the 31st, ult., SUSAN, wife of William Jackson, aged 44 years. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend her funeral, from the residence of her husband, No. 605 North Twenty-fifth street, on Sunday morning, at 9 o'clock.
Her death certificate lists her death on July 30, 1868; cause: "Dysentary, aided by prostration consequent upon amputation of leg at the knee joint." A.J. Bair, Undertaker. Interred August 2, 1868.
The 1870 Census lists her husband as a worker in a lamp black factory, presumably the Luther Martin Co. where Susanna's family worked. He was remarried to a Harriet. They still lived in Ward 15.
