Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served during the Wars with the Plains Indians as a First Lieutenant in the 6th United States Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Cibicu, Arizona on August 30, 1881. His citation reads “Rescued, with the voluntary assistance of 2 soldiers, the wounded from under a heavy fire”. His Medal was awarded to him on September 17, 1891.
