Mrs. Irene Roberts, 72, a resident of Saline Care Center in Harrisburg, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997, at 10:35 p.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center.
On Oct. 7, 1941, she married Raymond Roberts, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1981. She was born on May 16, 1925, in Harrisburg to the late Dan and Verba Cullum Beal. Mrs. Roberts attended Mount Calvary General Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Don (Sandy) Milligan of Harrisburg; a sister, Bonnie Pennell of Cave-in-Rock; six brothers, John Beal, Dean Beal, Jim Beal, all of Harrisburg, Bill Beal of Sarasota, Fla., Donald Beal of Aurora and Charlie Beal of Rowlett, Texas; two grandchildren, Kim and her husband, Gary Grimes of Harrisburg and Darin and wife, Sheryl Milligan of Eldorado; and two great-grandchildren, Whitnee and Weston Grimes.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kris Milligan; a brother, Dan Beal Jr., and a sister, Rose Travis. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Bob Patton will officiate and burial will be in Saline Ridge Cemetery at Harrisburg.
