Gordon Alvin Hickmann, age 80, of Sheboygan died October 31, 2010 at a hospital in Milwaukee.
Gordon was born May 7, 1930 to the late Leo and Margaret (Kudirko) Hickmann.
Gordon was united in marriage to Colette Kiefer July 23, 1955 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church; they celebrated 55 years of marriage this year.
He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict 1951-1953.
Gordon worked for the US Postal Service for many years retiring in 1988.
Gordon and Colette moved to Lakewood, CA in 1956 to begin their family. They returned to their hometown of Sheboygan in 1969. Gordon enjoyed collecting coins, going to garage sales, making cowboy boot birdhouses, traveling and baking. Everyone looked forward to his holiday chex mix.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Colette; daughters Susan (Charles) Simon of Sheboygan, Mary (Michael) Wennen of Framingham, MA, Janet (Gary) Stromer of Chassell, MI, Diane (Gary) Reinholtz of Sheboygan; sons, Mark (Sandy) Hickmann of Sheboygan, John (Ann) Hickmann of Brookfield, WI; grandchildren, Stacey (Chris) Stowe, Kurt Simon, Laura Simon, Jaeson Thieme, Eric Stromer, Rick (Kari) Stromer, Holly Stromer, Amy Stromer, Lauren Reinholtz, Natalie Reinholtz, Brian (Kate) Hickmann, Daniel Hickmann, Alex Hickmann and Matthew Hickmann; great- grandchild, Joshua Stowe and brothers and sisters, Marguerite (Bruce) Selken, Ruth (Glen) Kampmann, Luke (Colleen) Hickmann and David (Pam) Hickmann and a sister-in-law Joyce Hickmann.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister-in-law, Richard Hickmann and Jerry (Shirley) Hickmann and a grandson Andrew Reinholtz.
Family and friends may call at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan on Wednesday, November 3 with the funeral service. Rev. James Connell will officiate. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
