George Ivy Hopkins was born 15 Jul 1897 San Augustine county, Texas to William Levi Hopkins and his second wife Sarah Josephine Burgess Mahan. He was their first child. He married Ruby Lois Counts who was born 1906 and died 1960. Together they had the following children; Mildred Hopkins born 4 Nov 1923 married Ira Franklin Tidwell and three children:Kenneth Franklin Tidwell, James Curtis Tidwell and Regina Lynn Tidwell. Mildred later married Paul R. Bolden. Mildred died 17 Jan 1982 and she is buried with Paul at White Rock. Georgia Pauline Hopkins born 5 Oct 1927 Center, Shelby county, Texas. She married 1946 to James William Billy Jacobs and they had the following children: William Ray Jacobs, Sylvia Ouida Jacobs Williams, Stephen Edward Jacobs, and George H. Jacobs. Pauline died 10 Nov 2006 Shreveport, Bossier parish, Louisiana, she and her husband are buried at Old Union Cemetery in Tenaha. William Wayne Hopkins born 20 Feb 1933 (first married to Constance Francis Nobles with three children; second marriage to Wanda Jean Whiteside). George Ivy Hopkins appears in 1900 census, 1910 census, and 1920 census in San Augustine county. In 1930 Census he appears in Nacogdoches county and in 1940 was living in Grisgsby area of Shelby county with all three children and his wife Ruby. George died 28 Jun 1960 and he and Ruby are buried together at White Rock Cemetery in Shelby county, Texas.
