Mrs. Celestia Beckstead passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. A. Vanderpool, at Council Bluffs Tuesday, May 22, 1928, after an illness of several weeks from old age and accompanying complications.

She was born in Louisa County, Iowa, July 22, 1839, and was 88 years and 9 months of age at the time of her death. Her parents were Canadian immigrants and settled in Louisa County in the early days.
