Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie
Barber, who passed away at her
home Sunday, November 24, were
held from the home Wednesday afternoon,
Nov. 27. Rev. H. Jorgensen,
taking his text from II Corinthians,
spoke of the peace and comfort
of immortality. David Christensen
sang "In the Garden" and "Abide
With Me," accompanied by Miss
Sophia Christensen. Mrs. Cora Vogel
closed the service with the poem
"A Mother's Prayer."

Fannie May Driver was born at
Darlington,August 17,1872 and came to
Newell with her parents when two years
of age.

On March 29, 1899, she was married
to J. W. Barber, making their home
in Newell. In 1906 they moved to
Plover, where Mr. Barber passed
away in 1908.
Mrs. Barber opened a beauty shop
in 1924, but on account of ill health
closed the shop six years later. Following
an operation four years ago,
her health has failed until she became
an invalid the last months of
her life.

Mrs. Barber was a member of the
first Eastern Star chapter which
was established in Newell a number
of years ago, and also a member of
the Rebekah Lodge.
Endeared to all by her gracious
manner, the many beautiful flowers
were an expression of her friends'
affection.

Survivors include a daughter May L.
Mitchell of Omaha. Ne.A son TSgt
Joe D. Barber of Zambaanso the Phillipines.
Her sister Miss Minnie Barber of Newell.And 4
grandchildren.
