KERNERSVILLE - Millie Wilkes Taylor, 85, departed Earthly life for Heaven, Thursday, November 11, 2010, after a long and beautiful life, due to advanced age. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 20, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Marlboro County, South Carolina, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Ida Huggins Wilkes and Arch Wilkes. A devoted wife and mother, she had retired following 30 years of caring service as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Taylor attended Abundant Grace Tabernacle as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 39 years, Jefferson Monroe Taylor. Survivors include three daughters: Bonnie Taylor DeMoss and husband, James, Sr. of Kernersville; their children, James Alvin DeMoss, Jr., Jefferson Monroe DeMoss, and Crystal Melee DeMoss Jordan; their grandchildren, Josh Shane Sapp, Christian Messier, Gabriella Taylor DeMoss, Josh Heart DeMoss, Kaitlynn Jordan, Katie Messier, Olivia Renee DeMoss, Tiffany Elizabeth Jordan, and Terri Katherine Jordan; daughter, Linda Taylor Bowman and husband, Charles of Denton; their children, Daniel Lee Bowman, Charles Phillip Bowman, Todd Anthony Bowman, Jason Monroe Bowman, Bridgette Charlynn Bowman Blalock; their grandchildren, Brooklynn Dessera Bowman, Hannah Bowman, and Taylor Bowman; daughter, Violet Taylor Money and husband, William of Pfafftown; their children, Selina Jean McKague, and Christina Jennifer Johnson; Violet's step-daughter, Heather DeCastillia; their grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Bryson Johnson, Collin Mariani, Kaitlyn Johnson, Robert McKague, Alexis McKague; and two sons, Larry Wayne Taylor of Gaffney, SC, and Kevin Taylor of High Point. She had numerous extended family and friends. The family will visit with friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Senior Services of Winston-Salem, 2895 Shorefair Drive, Winston-Salem, NC. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Hospice for the kindness, care, and attention to Mrs. Taylor during her illness.
