Charles Tabacchi, who was accidently shot at Kelly on Wednesday of last week, after lingering until Saturday, died and was lain to rest in the Kelly cemetery Monday morning. Mr Tabacchi has been a resident and business man of Kelly for a number of years, and was one of the progressive, respected citizens of that little mountain town. He leaves a wife and several children and a host of friends to mourn his untimely death. Obituary from the Socorro Chieftain Newspaper dated June 14, 1919:
News reached Socorro Friday morning of the death of Charles Tabacchi Thursday night at this home in Kelly, death being due to a gunshot wound accidently received while out hunting the day before. The announcement of Mr. Tabacchi's death was received by his many Socorro friends with extreme sadness and regret, as he as well as Mrs. Tabacchi had formerly resided in this city. He is survived by his widow who formerly was Miss Dora Katzenstein, and seven children.
