She was a devoted mother, wife and friend to many during her too brief time with those who loved and admired her throughout her versatile career. She was one of the first 30 persons hired when AOL opened its first call center here in 1994, and was quickly promoted into several supervisory positions including the company's Tech Live and Prime Host programs.
Previously, Priscilla had been a flight attendant with Western Airlines, travel agent, and founded her own computer consulting and database design firm, Simplified. Prior to joining AOL, she served as coordinator of group billing at the Westin La Paloma, where she established the hotel's first effective computerized liaison among its front desk reservations, convention services, and accounting departments.
She was born in Boston, Mass. April 23, 1943, and moved with her family to West Covina, Calif., where she attended public schools. She flew for Western for five years, resigning in 1968 to marry Robert J. Serling, former aviation editor of United Press International. The couple lived in Potomac, MD., until 1981 when they moved with their two children to Tucson. Before embarking on a computer-oriented career, Priscilla served as a volunteer counselor with the Tucson Rape Crisis Center and Child Protection Services.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Jennifer; son, Jeff; grandson, Caleb; brothers Kenneth and Larry; and sister Linda.
Memorial Service, Friday, 3:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, it would be honored by donations made in Priscilla's memory to the Amyloid Treatment and Research Program, Attn: Dr. Martha Skinner, 715 Albany St. F229, Boston, MA, 02118.
