Obituary, Eleanor Harris, Published, Kennebec Journal, 12 Aug 2005

Harris - She graduated from Monmouth Academy and Pelletier's Beauty School in Lewiston. She married Douglass M. Roberts on Aug. 27, 1938, at the North Monmouth church. She had worked at Bunnys Beauty Salon in Augusta, Stockfords Laundromat in Winthrop and, for 40 years, had worked for Roberts Funeral Home. She leaves many friends and relatives in the Winthrop area, where she and Douglass lived after their marriage; and in Bradenton, Fla., where they spent their winters after their retirement in 1975. Before settling in Bradenton, they traveled extensively across the country in their motor home. They enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips together and with their friends in the Allagash, Moosehead, Aziscohos and Canadian regions. She was homemaker, a hairdresser and a past president of the Alfred Maxwell American Legion Auxiliary Post 40, Winthrop, and past Grand Noble of the Rebekah Lodge, Winthrop. "Ellie," as she was often called, is survived by her son, Larry Roberts and his wife, Carol, of Winthrop; her grandsons, whom she loved dearly, Christopher Even and his daughter, Morgan, Eric Even, and Michael Even and his children, Madison, Brandon and Jarron, all living in Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglass Roberts; her daughter, Judith Even and her husband, Fred; six brothers, Louis, Oren, David, Ronald, Glendon and Emory Harris; and two sisters, Lila Mae Harris and Alta Baker. Visiting will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a memorial service will take place at 3 p.m., following the visitation. Burial will occur in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop.

Her brother, Glendon, Glendon is in three cemeteries
