Sarah Toone Freeman is believed to be the daughter of Lewis Toone who was born circa 1717 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond (Old Rappahannock) County, Virginia, son of Mark & Elizabeth Lewis Tune.

Sarah married James Freeman, probably in Mecklenburg County, Virginia prior to 12 January 1784, the date of birth of son George Freeman. Sarah & James would have another five known children before James' death sometime between 1795-1799. The children are listed in the will of James' father George Freeman, dated 30 March 1799. They are named as his grandchildren from son James: George, Lemuel, Frances, Benjamin, Polly & Elizabeth.

Sarah and part of the family moved to Chatham County, North Carolina circa 1809. It is believed she came to Ross County, Ohio circa 1821 with daughter Joyce Elizabeth Freeman Graves, wife of John Graves, as there is a white female, born 1761-1770, living with them on the 1830 census in Ross, Ohio.

May you rest in peace.
