He was known for his smile and his big heart. He enjoyed brush dances and Indian card games. In his younger years he won some golden glove championships and later helped his brother with Albers' Boxing Club. He will be remembered for his beautiful beadwork, artwork and tattooing skills. He loved his family very much; you could always see Clifford walking through town or on the rez with his family pushing a stroller wearing his Green Bay Packers jacket and his crocheted Indian hat. He loved playing horseshoes and pool. He was known to throw double ringers back to back and could run the table all night long. He also belonged to the E Clampus Vitus Troop 101 " Clampers ".
He is survived by his wife, Debra Sherman Albers, his children, Cora, Kayla, Clifford Jr., Shannon, Elaina, and Dentillia Albers; his step-children, Zanz, Delmar, Quinten and Derek Donahue; his brothers, Gary and his wife Donna, Amos, Ernie and his wife Konni, Alfred Albers; his sisters, Viola and her husband Troy Super, and Donna Albers; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Alfred Albers, Sr. and Marie Moon; and brothers, Wilfred Albers, Jr. and Edward Albers, Sr.
Pallbearers are Douglas, Jaybird, Seeley, Danial, Troy, and Delmar. Honorary pallbearers are Lenford Markussen, Phillip Albers, Quincy Albers, Robert Grant, Gary Albers, Sr., Ernie Albers, Sr., Jerren Albers, Herman Albers, Gary Albers, Jr., Ernie Albers, Jr., Troy Super, Jr., Tony Martinez, and Brett Butler.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Sanders Funeral Home, 1835 Del Norte Street in Eureka, at 1:00 pm. A wake will take place beginning Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the home of Debra Sherman Albers, at 230 Wabash Avenue, Apt. #12, in Eureka, until Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
