There was a Reuben Rambo (born abt 1784 - died bef 1870) that owned land in Holmes County and Leake County, Mississippi during the early to mid 1800's. It is quite possible, but yet to be documented, that Reuben was Jesse Rambo's father.
Sometime between 1880 and 1890, Hugh Cameron Rambo married to Mary Ludie Butler. They had at least six children. For a time, when he was younger, he had worked on cattle drives. Eventually, Hugh became a successful stone mason and worked to build many structures in Comanche County, Texas (Hugh helped to build the courthouse that was unfortunately destroyed by fire)(These last facts are courtesy of Mr John Rambo of Jacksonville, Florida-Great Grandson of Mr. Hugh Cameron Rambo). Stone Masonry was Hugh Cameron Rambo's profession until he retired.
