Samuel H. Crow was the son of Isaac Crow, 1782-1832 who died in Lauderdale Alabama, and Eliza (maiden name unknown)Crow.

From census records Samuel was born about 1805 near Hobbysville, in the 96th DIST., which later became Spartanburg County. He died 03 Mar 1886 in the Fairforest area of northern Spartanburg Co. He married Violet "Valley" Stone, daughter of Thomas Stone and Sally (mnu). Valley was born, from Census records, about 1805 and from Unity Church records died 17 Apr 1886.

Samuel & Valley moved from lower Spartanburg County, near Hobbysville, to Fairforest between 1870-1880. They attended Mount Zion Baptist Church. Samuel was a well-loved servant of Unity Baptist Church near Woodruff. Samuel & Valley's deaths are recorded in the minutes of Unity Church. Samuel H. Crow's death is in the Unity Church Rolls as 3 March 1886.
From the Unity Church Minutes, Mar. 27, 1886. Church meet in conference and a committee was appointed to compose a memorial in memory of Brother S.H. Crow. At the time Samuel & Valley were living in the Mount Zion Church Community. April 24, 1886, Unity Church meet in conference read & approved the memorial in memory of Brother S.H. Crow. Church meet in conference May 21, 1886 moved & second that there be a committe to draft resolutions in memory of sister Valley Crow. The Church meet in conference June 26 1886 read & approved the memorial in memory of sister Valley Crow.

The funeral sermon for Mr. S. H. Crow and his wife will be preached at Mount Zion the fourth Sunday in this month by Rev. C. T. Scaife.

Samuel H. and Violet "Valley" Stone Crow are buried in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Where the memorial stands is not their graves.

She may have never married? She is on census records from 1850 to 1880. She was possibly buried rear her parents at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Fairforest Community of Spartanburg Co., SC.
4. Rebecca Crow, b. Bet. 1832 - 1834.
She is listed on the 1850 & 1860 census.
5. Johnathan Crow, b. 1833-1836.
Listed on the 1850 census. He might be the Jonathan Crow who served with the 1st Regiment, South Carolina Cavalry, Company F.
6. Silas Crow, b. Bet. 1839 - 1842.
Listed on the 1850 & 1860 census. Served with SC Light Artillery, Jeter's Co., Macbeth Light Artillery.
