Mack was born Aug 4, 1940, in Pontotoc Co., Oklahoma, the fourth of seven children to Willie and Fayola "Fay" Fullingim Crawford. Though born in Oklahoma, Mack was raised in California, for his parents moved the family to Fresno Co., in 1946. The following year Mack at age seven suddenly lost his father who died from injuries sustained in a tractor accident. His mother gave birth to her seventh child three months after her husband's death. The year was 1947.

Mack earned a B.A. degree from U.C.S.F. [Univ. of California at San Francisco].

He served in the US Air Force as a Russian interpreter and also spoke German fluently. He still worked for Fred Meyer and prior to them he worked at News and Smokes.

Mack Crawford passed away from cancer at home with family in Roseburg, Oregon. He had lived the last 25 years of his life in Roseburg.

Mack loved life, family, his friends, flowers, gardening, shuffleboard and his family of co-workers. Mack loved his job. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. His love and friendship enriched our lives.

Survivors include, three sisters, Joyce M. Parsons and her husband, Mike; Verna Phillips, all of California; and Mildred Holster and her husband, Charlie of Texas; a brother, Willie Crawford and his wife, Linda of California. He was uncle to 22, great-uncle to many, but closest to his sister, Joyce's children, Gloria Webber and her husband, George; Jim Parsons and his wife, Liane; Joy Parsons and Sabrina Parsons; nephews, Dewaine Holster (Millie's son); great-nieces and nephews, Jessica Webber, Theron Webber; Alexis, Alyssa, Sara and Michael Parsons. Mack longed to hold his soon-to-be-born great-great nephew, Austin James Webber.

Mack has very special friends, Helga Wellner and her daughter, Christa Irving and her sons, Daniel and Eric (who called Mack Grandpa) and Daniel's wife, Miranda and their three children, Kayden, Kyanna and Kasidy.

Gloria and her family cared for their uncle Mack during his final battle. His sis, Joyce and Mike came. Christa was there for him too. Mack was not alone-but surrounded by love. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Mark; three brothers, Lonnie, John and Jimmie.

Military honors were provided by VFW District 12 Honor Guard with Chaplain Karen Ioving from Mercy Hospice will be officiating. Private interment will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
