Funeral services for E. A. McCampbell, Sr., 60, of 2824 Dempsey, will be held at 5 p.m. today in the Cage-Mills Chapel. Dr. S. Evans Brown, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ardra Walker, Pastor of Prescott Christian Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
McCampbell, a well known attorney and a former judge of Corporation Court, died at his home at 7:30 p.m. Friday following a heart attack. He had been in ill health for several months.
Born in Corpus Christi on July 25, 1894, McCampbell attended the Corpus Christi schools and received a degree in law from the University of Texas. He was the son of the late E. A. and Eddie White McCampbell.
He was elected justice of the peace of Nueces County some 25 years ago and served two terms. More recently he had been engaged in title work.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth C. McCampbell; three daughters, Mrs. A. F. Hamilton, Mrs. W. R. Stroud and Miss Margaret Ann McCampbell, all of Corpus Christi; three sons, E. A. McCampbell, Jr., and John C. McCampbell, both of Corpus Christi, and Harry Corey McCampbell, a student at the University of Kentucky at Lexington; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Fore and Mrs. E. R. Schendel, both of Corpus Christi; a brother, Coleman McCampbell of New York , and four grandsons.
