Johann Heinrich "John" TRAUDT was born 14 Mar 1842 in Norka, Saratov, Volga, Russia, the son of Wilhelm TRAUDT (1797-1849) and Catherina Elisabeth SAUER (1803-1866), both of whom remained in Norka.
John married Elisabeth HAMBURGER 16 Feb 1865 in Norka, where she died three years later, and he then married her younger sister Margaretha HAMBURGER about 1869, also in Norka. John and his family immigrated from Russia to Lincoln, Clay, Nebraska in about 1876, and by 1900, had settled in Hastings, Adams, Nebraska, where several descending lines continue to live.
