Darrell Edward Strickland was born October 22, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Coyle Henry Strickland and Laura Evelyn (Wells) Strickland. Darrell passed away on November 11, 2010 at his home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Darrell was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma and had made his home in Tahlequah with his family. On July 21, 1997 Darrell married Alisha Matthews in Bentonville, Arkansas. Darrell enjoyed the outdoors spending his time hunting and fishing before his health failed. He has been preceded in death by his parents; one brother and a sister. Darrell is survived by his wife Alisha of the home; four children; Kevin Strickland of Oak Grove, Arkansas; Shelby Strickland, Danny Strickland and Darrell Strickland Jr. of the home; two sisters, Barbara Comander, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Valarie Washington of Skiatook, Oklahoma; and a brother Danny Strickland. Darrell will be missed dearly by all. Funeral services will be held graveside at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010.
