HOUSTON - A.J. Grice, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at the Shearer Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona after a long illness. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Eugene Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Grayson-Porter's Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sisters, Zella Mae Graham, and Patsy Jones and husband, Robert, all of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Fannie Pulliam of Houston; three grandchildren, Theodis Pulliam, James Earl Pulliam and Lasonya Pulliam, all of Houston; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, O.B. Dukes; his parents, Charlie Grice and Tommie Lee Grice; six brothers, A.C. Grice, Tommy Grice, Fred Buster Grice, L.T. Grice, Randolph Grice and Sammie Grice; and three sisters, Addie Bea, Annie Jane and May Lee.

Pallbearers will be Robert Jones, Theodis Pulliam, Henry C. Grice, James Earl Pulliam, Joe L. Grice and Tommy Lee Grice.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
