He died at the age of 11 months, 7 days. The Wayne County Historian's Office records show death by dysentery with date. Byron's brother Albert also died about the same time of the same cause.
Byron is buried along with Albert next to his great grandfather William Colvin 1773-1841 (father of his grandfather Nathan Colvin 1796-1877 who was the father of Albert's father Delos 1820-1894).
His parents were living in Galen, Wayne County, New York when Albert died. They later moved to Seneca and Geneva, Ontario County, New York, where they are buried (Glenwood Cemetery).
