Fred N. Akes, 66 who moved here in 1965 from Waterloo, Iowa, were today in Grimshaw Bethany Chapel. He died Monday en route to a Phoenix hospital. Mr. Akes, 3424 E. Claremont, worked 17 years for Phillips Petroleum Co., retiring
in 1962. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, American Legion, Ilks, and the Optimist Club. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; a daughter, Sheri French; and a sister.
