Helen Marie Kosbab, a resident of Waite Park, MN, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 16, 2008 at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. She was 42.

Helen was born June 10, 1965, in Lisbon, ND. She grew up in Milnor, ND where she attended Milnor Elementary and High School through the 9th grade. In June 1980 she moved with her family to Finlayson, MN where she graduated from Finlayson HS as the valedictorian of her class in 1983. Helen attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND from 1983-1989 where she earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and in Business Administration. During her college career she worked as a summer intern for the General Services Administration in Ft. Worth, TX. After graduating from NDSU in 1989 she moved to Ft. Worth and went to work for the GSA full-time. In 2000, Helen moved to St. Cloud to live with her mother Frances Kosbab, who passed away in 2006.

Helen will be remembered for her love of travel, her strong resolve, and her enthusiasm for playing card and board games with her family. In her travels she visited Israel, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, and numerous other places in the United States. She was loved by all of her nieces and nephews who have enjoyed receiving cards and letters containing hand-written calligraphy, one of her many hobbies, along with an abundant amount of usually chocolate candy and gifts on every birthday and holiday. Helen had a special place in her heart for young children and was active in various church and youth organizations. Her other hobbies included reading, watching movies, making cookies and candy, and tending to her dog Fritz.

Helen is survived by her five siblings: Steve Kosbab, his wife Renae, and four children, Krista, Laura, Janna, and Alicia (Waite Park, MN); Bruce Kosbab, his wife Janice, and three children Kelvin, Rachel, and Sarah (Colorado Springs, CO); Sharon Lind and her husband Greg and two children Anika and Darby (Savage, MN); Edward Kosbab, his wife Margo and two children Zachary and Morgan (El Paso, TX); and Keith Kosbab, his wife Dawn, and three children Melody, Noah, and Levi (Finlayson, MN).

A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm, Friday, February 22, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, March 1, at St. Arnold's Catholic Church in Milnor, ND.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Elementary School, 108 6th Avenue North, Waite Park, MN 56387.
