Professional Boxer. Born Lawrence Majerus in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a popular welterweight boxer from 1928 to 1934. A solid puncher, many of his bouts were in Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, Ohio and in western Pennsylvania, where he narrowly lost to welterweight title contender Teddy Yarosz in April 1931. He finished his career with a record of 17 wins, 15 by knockout, 15 loss and 1 draw. He also promoted local boxing matches at the Navy Gym Cleveland, Ohio and taught the elements of boxing to disadvantaged children at the Old Angle gym. In 1984, was inducted into the Cleveland Boxing Hall of Fame. He died at the age of 85 in Cleveland, Ohio.
