Francis Kearney was married to Bridget Alice Bradley in County Derry, Ireland before emigrating to America in April of 1847. Francis and Bridget were the parents of seven known children. Their first child was Andrew, who was born in 1818. Census records from 1850 in Maryland, indicate that the next child, Mary, would have been born in approximately 1823. With such a large gap, five years, between Andrew and Mary, it is very likely that there could have been other children in between that may not have survived infancy or much older. The same can be said for the gap of five years following Mary before the birth of Patrick in 1828. Matilda was the next known child and she was born in 1829 with Francis Bradley, another son, following in 1831. The fourth son John was born in 1833 with sister Bridget shortly behind in 1834. All of the children of Francis and Bridget were born in County Derry, Ireland.
