Normand E. Plante, 71, formerly of Northbridge, Mass., a retired chief warrant officer in the Navy, died Tuesday, June 10, in Chesapeake Health Care Center. He leaves his wife of 10 years, Patricia (Morris) Plante; two sons, Michael N. Plante of Virginia Beach and Wayne R. Plante of Norfolk; and six grandchildren. He was born in Northbridge, son of Lucien J. and Laura (Boyer) Plante. He graduated in 1951 from Northbridge High School. Mr. Plante served in the Navy from 1951 to 1971. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring, he became a vocational teacher in the Virginia state school system, teaching for 10 years in Suffolk and for 10 years in Norfolk before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and a former member of St. Peter Church in Northbridge.
