Frederick "Fred" Elmer Klein, 76, of Jamestown died Friday at Memorial Medical Center, Modesto.

Mr. Klein was a native of Stent. He lived in Jamestown all his life. He owned and operated a restaurant-bar in Jacksonville for 20 years. He also was a deputy game warden. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, founder of the Buck & Fin Club, charter member of the Mother Lode Gun Club and an honorary Clamper . He also was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Elks and Rotary. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946.

He is survived by his children, Ray Klein of Moccasin, George Klein of Jamestown and Kathy Esposito of Sonora; brothers, Roy "Buzz" Klein and Robert Klein, both of Sonora; sisters, Louise "Sis" Garrison of Stent, Katheryn "Totsie" Ennis of Sonora and Dorothy "Dot" Ennis of Jamestown; and six grandchild-ren and three great-grandchild-ren.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home, Sonora. Burial at Jamestown City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
