Amy R. Chapman 96, of Springfield died at 9:10 p.m. Friday at Dirksen House Healthcare.
She was born Sept. 24, 1895, in Springfield, the daughter of Fletcher and Elizabeth Boyles Chapman. Preceding her in death were eight brothers and sisters.
Miss Chapman was employed by the Illinois Watch Factory and International Shoe Co., for many years. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member and teacher and superintendent of the primary department of the Sunday school.
Surviving are two nieces, four nephews, several grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Asbury United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ann Kindwoman officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery.
