Nancy and Lit married on October 19, 1936; She was a 1934 graduate of William and Mary College where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gama. She worked as a reference librarian for Norfolk Public Library from 1956 to 1980. She was a member of St Andrews Episcopal Church and the Norfolk Yacht Club. Survived by two granddaughters, Susan Abbott of Clearwater, Florida & Robin Voth of Jersey City, New Jersey; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, and Matthews; and cousins, Nancy Beach and Lindsay McCaw of Virginia Beach, VA
