BOILING SPRINGS, SC

Sidney Martin "Marty" Franklin, Jr., 41, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 6, 1969, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Sidney Martin Franklin, Sr. and Patricia Eledge Franklin of Boiling Springs.

He was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and was employed as a technician with Davis Services Heating & Air, where he was certified in Lennox and Trane equipment, Carrier Infinity Control, Duc Design and Air Flow, EPA certified and journeyman class heating and air conditioning technician.

Marty was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church. He loved and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, playing pool and cooking. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved the 4th of July and celebrating it with his family and friends. He was rewarded with many loving relationships with children of all ages, and was thrilled to become an uncle to Meryl Grace.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mandy Fallat and husband Mike and a niece, Meryl Grace Fallat, of Greenville; and his loving dog, Duke. He was predeceased by grandparents, Gene and Merrill "Mert" Franklin and Paul and Grace Eledge.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Central United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Luther H. Rickenbaker, III. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
