Funeral services for John Markham Smith, 67, were held Monday at the Baxter Funeral Home, with Rev. James Stringer and Rev. W. N. Collier, officiating. Burial was in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Smith a resident of Baxter died at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville Nov. 24, after an extended illness.
Son of the late John Nelson and laura Lee Rhodes Smith, he was a retired real estate and furniture dealer, a native of Smith County and held membership in the First Christian Church, Lewistown, MT.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Smith, Baxter; two sisters, Mrs. Grover Emsweilier, Lewistown, MT, Mrs. Maud Bush, Elmwood; three brothers, Hershall Smith, Springfield, Elige Smith, Old Hickory, Jesse Smith, Baxter.
